Spring has indeed come to McLaren Vale and budburst begins the new growing season. Winter sees a little more of a relaxed state, with pruning being the main task to do. The sheep keep the grass and weeds down in the vineyard and add some natural fertiliser to the soil. In winter we turn our attention to other tasks such as record-keeping and evaluating vineyard management strategies – looking at what works, what practices we’ll continue or discard and what new things we might like to integrate this next season. Reflection and some planning. A bit like our lives really.
With that ending of the previous season, we’d like to give thanks to the team and whoever was involved this winter – Rachael, Mandy, Angie, Leon, William, Christine, Kay, Glen, Steve, Briony, Tony and whoever else visited and helped or lent their energy in some way. Thank you, your friendship and support is treasured.
We are thrilled that Bodhi Tree Wines has been venturing further into NSW & Qld! We have limited case stock left of the 2012, but for anyone interested in securing a case of our very first vintage, via a website or phone order, remember you have the wonderful chance of spending the day here with us in McLaren Vale and being taken around to visit our beautiful area. For more information, please see our Day In the Vines blog post.
Have a blooming wonderful Spring!
