Home PageWine – growing & makingIt’s June! EOYFS

It’s June. The cooler days are here and so are the sheep, helping keep the grass and the weeds down, as well as providing some more great company! We’ve also had some new girls that have moved into the henhouse (“girls” being chooks, in case anyone has a confusing visual going on)!

It’s been a busy time over the last few months. After bottling our 2013 vintage and harvesting our 2015, we had the great pleasure of hosting a Holistic Management Training course here in our newly renovated space. Eight days of learning spaced over a few months. Learning, discussions and paradigm shifts about soil, land, animals, communities, as well as experiencing some hands-on activities out in the paddocks.

We also took part in the Marion Council initiative “Sustainability: A Living Expression”, presented via the PechaKucha format. This format involves presenting 20 slides, allowing 20 seconds of talking per slide and is a great way to quickly share information and ideas. Along with 5 other presenters, we shared learnings, initiatives, inspiration & vision for our collective future. We were all inspired and felt optimism and excitement for things to come.

Back on the vineyard, the vines are now dormant and have lost their leaves. Tis the season. We begin pruning this weekend. If you would like to join in and help for a couple of hours while taking in the quiet, or if you prefer to talk and have a laugh, then we’d love your company. Call first though please, we won’t be pruning every day!

We’re getting closer to releasing our 2013 vintage, which means that we have a little wine from our first vintage of 2012 (still drinking very nicely indeed) that we can offer to our members. We appreciate our Bodhi Tree Wines family and now is the perfect time for us to say thanks for your support by offering a case of 2012 Bodhi Tree Wines Shiraz at an amazingly low price (email has been sent to members today with all the details, so check your inbox). There really is very limited stock, we need to keep some cases for museum stock, as well as to enjoy ourselves! 6 cases are in need of a new home, so if you are one of our first 6 members to call, then this divine wine, at this amazing price, will be yours. Beautiful wine on hand for special dinners and gifts. Happy campers indeed.

Best wishes for a wonderful winter, warming yourself by the fire, with a glass of lovely red in hand, slow-cooker simmering away in the kitchen…… ahhhhh.
